Top lip swollen after teeth cleaning and fillings with no injections. Is this normal? (Photo)

The most logical conclusion is that the swelling of the lip is due to
infection. Since the swelling occurred a
few hours after treatment, it would be a good idea to rule out an allergic
reaction. An allergy to latex in the
gloves may cause angioedema which could present as swelling in the lip. If the swelling is caused by infection, the
amoxicillin antibiotic will help until a root canal to remove the infected
nerve can be done. If it is an allergy,
avoid latex; it is also a good idea to seek medical attention.

This does not look like infection to me. You might consider being tested for latex sensitivity.Good luck!

I agree that it sounds like, and looks like an infection. If you had large fillings worth no anesthetic the nerve in the tooth is likely dead and you either need root canals or extractions. Amoxicillin should help for a short timeand is recommend getting into the dentist to get it fixed appropriately before the infection gets worse.
