It is difficult to tell from the single image whether your chin is actually recessed. I recommend scheduling an in-person consultation with a board-certified facial plastic surgeon for further assessment. If a weak chin is a concern, this can be easily addressed with dermal fillers or an implant. Fillers take just a few minutes to perform and involve no downtime, but improvements are temporary and the treatment will need to be repeated to maintain them. A chin implant offers a permanent result and the surgery can be performed with local anesthesia and about one week of recovery time. Your surgeon will be able to design a customized treatment plan that meets your needs and goals best.
The best permanent correction for a receding chin is a chin implant since it only has to be done once, can be placed directly on the bone and does not require injections on an annual basis. That being said you can consider fillers first to make sure you like the result of augmentation since it is temporary and reversible and then you can proceed to a more definitive correction.
fillers can be used for contouring of the face, and my younger clients do morpheus, clear and brilliant. at home peels like cosmelan, enlighten and aerify along with dermarolling (MTS roller with anteage MD ampules weekly, see linkt) should be started now to prevent further aging. For facial rejuvenation, I would suggest a combination approach of 1) skin care with products and PRP/microneedling2) PDT light therapy few times a month with growth factors3) laser treatments like clear and brilliant regularly and a few times a year Fraxel/halo Viva, Co2/Erbium4) Sculptra injections a few times a year for collagen production with fillers like juvederm/restylane/belotero/radiesse/bellafill5) thermage/ultherapy for yearly skin tightening with or without PDO or cone based instalift threads for lifting6) botox every 2-3 months to stop movement lines and prevent lines at rest7) deep microneedling RF like Fractora/morpheus8 for tightening of the skin8) Vascular laser like vbeam/excel V or BBL forever young treatment every quarter (3-4 months)Best, Dr. Emer.
Audrey thank you for sharing your photo. The photo shows your chin at just one angle and position, but from the perspective of the photo I think you look good and dont really need to add a filler. Wishing you the best of health. Dr Wright
Thank you for your question. I personally don't think you have a receding chin and believe your bone structure looks quite beautiful. If anything, I think adding some filler to your lower lip will help give a little bit more projection to your profile view. I know you aren't ready for filler but there really aren't any other options in regards to adding volume to either area(chin vs lips). With the lip filler, I don't think you would focus in on your chin as much afterwards. Hyaluronic acid fillers can be dissolves and there are risks of bruising/swelling. Filler typically lasts anywhere from 6-9 months in the lips. Hope this helps!
You can get the filler dissolved as long as it was a hyaluronic acid. Once it is gone, your chin should go back to its original state. I would wait for it to be completely dissolved before you add anything else and see a different doctor.
Hi @ sao.15forever. I would recommend starting with 2 syringes of filler and adding more a few weeks later if necessary. Each syringe is 1ml. Best of luck, Dr. Nima
It is impossible to adequately answer your question without knowing: - the type of genioplasty you had, i.e. sliding or augmentation with an implant; - when the genioplasty was done, and where the incision(s) were made; - the type of injectable filler you received; - photos of your lower face...
