Is partial tattoo removal (one color tattoo removal) an option for me? (Photo)

Hello everyone,My situation is sort of strange. I have a love/hate relationship with my tattoo. I LOVE the octopus part of it but I HATE the blue in the background. Before I went to my last appointment the background was made up of pink stripes but they almost looked like scratch marks against my skin. I asked the artist to do a light wash of blue with a very gradual fade to make them pop. What I got instead was 50% of the pink covered up with a big blotchy blue blob! Say that 10 times! All I can think when I look at it now is how I have a big weird blue shape on my leg. It doesn't fade gradually at all. It's just very defined blue blob all the way around. What are my options here? I've read that a laser can pinpoint one color and remove only that color. Would the rest of my tattoo be affected? Would the blue turn darker and look even worse? The one thing I might have going for me is the blue around the outer edges was very watered down so its not very saturated. If I could just get rid of the defined edge I would be very happy. My other option would be to try going over the pink again to overpower the blue some but I'll still have the blue blob and it will always bother me.Thank you in advance for you help. This website is wonderful!
