How many more sessions will I likely need to get rid of a black lettering wrist tattoo? (photos)

Question

I've had 3 laser removal sessions already and am paid up for 5 total. Should I go ahead and pay more for more sessions? How many do you anticipate this will take to remove? Are there any other quicker alternatives than waiting months for the tattoo to be removed? I am eager to apply for a job that requires me to not have this tattoo and do not want to wait any longer than I need to.

Hello.  For the black ink in your tattoo, the ideal wavelength is 1064 (not Picosure at 755).  There are many lasers that use this wavelength including the Medlite and Revlite series, Fotona Q-max, Palomar Q-Yag V and Quanta lasers.With that said, the glossy, acrylic type ink you have is one of the hardest to remove and our estimate would have been 8-12 visit spaced 6-8 weeks apart.  This means that it is at least a year long process with nothing to be done to speed it up.If you need to apply for jobs, we would consider using makeup for that process as there are makeups that can cover the ink. The number of treatments needed depends on a few things. The most important of these is the type of ink that was used (as some respond better to laser than others), the laser technology that is used and the way that technology is used. New pico laser technology has significantly improved our ability to remove most pigments of tattoos in fewer treatments (about half the number in our experience). However, other than surgically excising the tattoo, there really aren't any other options that offer faster removal. Good luck.
