Worried about healing following breast reduction, should i be concerned or is there something I could do? (Photos)

This type of a healing issue is very common after breast reduction surgery. I would recommend following your plastic surgeons instructions and this should heal in about six weeks.

It is not unusual to have wound healing issues and fluid discharge around the areas you mention. These will heal and over the coming months the scars will improve. Keep in touch with your PS esp regarding scar management.

Occasionally the wounds of a breast reduction can come apart (dehisce), or the skin scab over and slough off when there has been a little tension on the wound edges when being sutured (stitched) closed.
I would expect this area to heal over by itself. All I would advise is that you keep it clean via daily showering and the application of a simple dressing and/or vaseline (yellow soft paraffin) over the top. When fully healed I would advise you moisturise the scar and massage it firmly twice daily for a period of three months. You could also apply silicone sheet or gel daily for 3-6 months to help mature the resulting scars. It can take unto a year to eighteen months for the scar to fully settle.
