I would like to know if Vaser lipo is an add on into a traditional lipo? I had called couple office and they kinda said: yes we do have vaser lipo and If you preferred then we can add on to the Liposuction. Sounds like 2 procedures.
Answer: Vaser Lipo as an addon? Thank you for your question. VASER liposuction technique I use in all my body contouring cases. In my practice it is never an "addon". Surgeons who use it as an addon to charge more, most likely do not know how to use appropriately. The VASER is an internal ultrasound which helps breakup more fibrous fat both in the superficial and deep fat compartments. The liposuction is done with Ventex cannula (made by Solta who makes the VASER) and or with the power assist liposuction technique. As an advanced body sculpting surgeon, I use all these techniques. Many of my patients are redos from suboptimal liposuction by others and or had Coolsculpting which creates deep scarring internally and difficult to improve without the VASER technique. See a board certified plastic surgeon experienced in advanced body sculpting techniques for an in person consultation/evaluation. Good luck.

Answer: Vaser Liposuction Is an Add-On to Traditional Liposuction with Added Benefits Thank you for your question. Vaser liposuction can indeed be considered an add-on to traditional liposuction. There is often an additional fee when using the Vaser machine, as it requires a specialized device and is an extra step beyond regular liposuction. The primary difference between Vaser liposuction and traditional liposuction is the use of ultrasound technology. Vaser helps to break up fat cells more precisely, making it easier to remove fat from more delicate areas while minimizing trauma to surrounding tissues. This leads to smoother contours and often allows for more detailed fat sculpting. Additionally, Vaser can promote better skin contraction compared to traditional liposuction, which is beneficial for patients with mild to moderate skin laxity. If you're considering Vaser as an add-on, the benefit is typically a more refined result, but it’s important to weigh that against the additional cost. I recommend discussing with your plastic surgeon to determine if the added benefit is necessary for your specific goals. Sincerely, Dr. Katzen

Answer: VASER Lipo VASER is a device that uses ultrasound energy to emulsify the fat. To review- in most areas of our bodies, our fat is divided into three layers: superficial, intermediate, and deep. As with all lipo procedures, we first start with the infiltration of tumescent solution. This allows for numbing, vasoconstriction (decreasing bleeding), and engorging the fat cells. What takes place next is the differentiating factor. Some surgeons will go straight into liposuctioning the fat. This is traditional lipo. It can be done either through the assistance of PAL (power. assisted lipo) which decreases the number of passes the surgeon has to make to remove the fat, or merely hand held lipo, which is just a cannula connected to a suction device. Fat removal is generally limited to deeper layers of the fat to avoid contour irregularities. Other surgeons, including myself, elect to use VASER prior to liposculpting, I am able to go through all layers of the fat, including the superficial layers, and can maximize my fat extraction. I can also introduce abdominal etching as well. I have great videos on my website that review these topics in much greater detail. In my practice, after tumescent, VASER, and lipo are completed, I then use Renuvion J Plasma or BodyTite to tighten the skin. Hope this helps! Warm regards, Dr. Satey

Answer: There are significant differences between traditional liposuction and Vaser liposuction Traditional liposuction and Vaser liposuction are both cosmetic procedures designed to remove excess fat from specific areas of the body, but they differ in the methods used for fat removal. Here are the key differences between traditional liposuction and Vaser liposuction: 1. Technique:Traditional Liposuction: It involves the use of a cannula (a thin tube) connected to a vacuum device. The cannula is manually inserted into the targeted fat deposits, and the fat is suctioned out.Vaser Liposuction: It utilizes ultrasound technology. The Vaser system emits ultrasonic waves that break down the fat cells, making it easier to suction out. 2. Fat Disruption:Traditional Liposuction: Relies on the physical movement of the cannula to break up fat cells before removal.Vaser Liposuction: Utilizes ultrasound energy to emulsify or liquefy the fat cells, allowing for a gentler extraction process. 3. Precision:Traditional Liposuction: It is effective for larger areas but may have limitations in terms of precision and potential damage to surrounding tissues.Vaser Liposuction: Offers enhanced precision, making it suitable for more delicate areas and allowing for smoother contours. 4. Recovery Time:Traditional Liposuction: Typically involves a longer recovery period due to the more invasive nature of the procedure.Vaser Liposuction: Often associated with a shorter recovery time as the ultrasound technology is less traumatic to surrounding tissues. 5. Skin Tightening:Traditional Liposuction: May not address skin tightening concerns, and additional procedures might be required for optimal results.Vaser Liposuction: Can have a mild skin-tightening effect due to the stimulation of collagen production by the ultrasound energy. 6. Targeted Areas:Traditional Liposuction: Effective for various areas, including the abdomen, thighs, and flanks.Vaser Liposuction: Particularly suitable for precision sculpting, making it a popular choice for areas like the chin, arms, and smaller treatment areas. When considering liposuction, individuals should consult with a qualified plastic surgeon to determine the most appropriate technique based on their specific goals, body type, and health status. Each method has its advantages, and the choice between traditional and Vaser liposuction depends on individual circumstances and desired outcomes.

Answer: Understanding different forms of Liposuction All forms of liposuction are basically the same. It is based on a small stainless steel tube connected to a source of vacuum this pushed back-and-forth through the fat gradually removing small particles of fat with each pass. The brand names of various technologies come in the form of secondary treatments typically done just before or just after the actual liposuction. In the case of VASER and ultrasound probe is passed through the fat before the fattest removed with a regular Liposuction Cannula. Some people feel that adding this ultrasound pre-treatment allows them to remove fat more effectively. In the end it’s not the VASER that’s removing the fat but a traditional Liposuction Cannula. The same is true for laser assisted Liposuction such as the brand name smart Lipo. with that procedure a laser fiber is passed through the fat either before or after regular liposuction. There is a third fairly common type of Liposuction called PAL or power assisted Liposuction. in this modality the actual liposuction cannula itself is different in that it is attached to a device making it vibrate very rapidly. In the end what device is used has very little influence when you compare to the impact provider selection house. A talented experienced provider can deliver quality results on a regular basis using any form of liposuction. An inexperienced or less talented surgeon will not be able to deliver superior results no matter what device they purchased. Liposuction results are highly provider dependent and delivering it consistent quality Liposuction results is more difficult than most people believe including plastic surgeons. Liposuction results are highly provider dependent and delivering it consistent quality Liposuction results is more difficult than most people believe including plastic surgeons. results from these procedures regardless of what the name of the device is called are permanent and more or less irreversible. If done incorrectly patients can be left disfigured. Anybody interested in getting Liposuction should consider that this procedure has more variation in outcomes than any other plastic surgery procedure purely based on provider selection. I cannot emphasize enough the importance of properly vetting plastic surgeons to find someone with sufficient skill and experience. Defined the most talented and experience the provider I suggest patients have multiple in person consultations with local board certified plastic surgeons. During consultations ask each provider to show their entire collection up before and after pictures. an experienced surgeon should have no difficulty showing you at least 50 sets a before and after pictures. Being shown a handful of pre-selected pictures which most likely represent the best results of the providers career is insufficient to get a clear understanding of what average results look like in the hands of each provider. we should also ask providers to show as many pictures as possible of patients with similar body characteristics to your own. you may also want to ask providers to show examples of excellent outcomes, average outcomes and less than outcomes. finally I recommend reading all reviews on various physician review websites avoiding providers for any significant number of justified negative reviews. The absence of justified negative reviews is more important and more telling than having an abundance of positive reviews. Once done correcting poorly done Liposuction is extremely difficult.
