At nearly two years after a sleeve gastrectomy, new or worsening heartburn, reflux, or repeated vomiting should not be dismissed as “just a virus,” especially if the problem has persisted for six months. Severe or persistent reflux after a sleeve can sometimes be due to changes in the anatomy of the stomach, narrowing or twisting of the sleeve, or the development of a hiatal hernia. These issues may not resolve on their own and often require further evaluation.
Since you do not currently have health insurance, I understand how difficult it can feel to seek care. Still, I strongly recommend that you arrange at least a consultation with a bariatric surgeon or gastroenterologist, as persistent reflux and vomiting can lead to complications such as esophagitis, strictures, or nutritional deficiencies. Sometimes an upper endoscopy or imaging is necessary to identify the underlying cause.
In the meantime, try to stay hydrated with clear fluids, avoid lying down soon after eating or drinking, and continue with acid-suppressing medication if it provides some relief. However, these measures will not solve the root problem if there is an anatomical issue.

There is a great chance that your reflux and vomiting is associated to the formation of a hiatal hernia. You should get a consultation with you surgeon to get evaluated for a hiatal hernia and get it repaired.
