Lump under jaw developed a month after dental implant? Does it take awhile to go away after antibiotics? I developed a painful lump under my jaw a month after getting implants. They prescribed me antibiotics and I took them all as directed, but the lump still hurts. I asked the oral surgeon if I could be rejecting the implant, but he said we won't know till we put the abutment in, which is a few months away. Does it sometimes take awhile after infection for a swollen lump to go away?

There is nothing to worry about. Although the gum tissue will cover the implant rapidly, you can see your surgeon to replace it at anytime.
It is not a normal thing to develop pain after two and a half months of implant placement. There are chances that you are developing a condition called periimplantitis (inflammation around the dental implant). Kindly get a checkup done from an expert implantologist.
