Hello, what is a good oral minoxidil dose for males? I know it's different from patient to patient, but what is a good average dose that has negligible affects on the cardiovascular system? Thank you

This dosing range tends to be quite effective while minimizing the presence of undesirable side effects like lower extremity edema, weight gain, shortness of breath, headaches. Above this and cardiovascular effects become more common. Women stay at 2.5 mg or below in general.

Most males tolerate 1.25 to 5 mg with 1.25 and 2.5 mg having less effects on the cardiovascular system than 5 mg. 5 mg and 2.5 mg are the most common doses in males. Some males do develop headaches, chest discomfort, shortness of breath and dizziness on 5 mg but all in all it tends to be uncommon.
