What are viable options to remove a mild hypertrophic scar under my right eye? (Photos)

Hi I've had a mild hypertrophic scar under my right eye since 2012 due to facial trauma. I hate how it sticks out and would greatly appreciate leads to cost and viable options to removing it. II've had several cosmetic procedures like micro needling, chemical peels, Morpheus 8, cosmelian peel to ultimately ' get rid of scar'. I am aware that a scar may be minimized to a degree however I'm convinced that scar plasty in repositioning, cutting out scar is the best option at this point. Thank you

Unfortunately, I was not surprised that NONE of the treatments used so far were effective. Microneedling and chemical peels were very unlikely to have much impact and RF devices are backed up far more by marketing hype than hard science. What's more surgical revision runs the risk for the subsequent development of stretch scars and tram track stitch marks. The simplest and most effective treatment for elevated scars, such as hypertrophic scars, is intralesional injection of an anti-inflammatory agent, such as triamcinolone to shrink the scar with cutting or "bells and whistles" energy-based devices. Make sure that you consult a board certified cosmetic dermatologist with special expertise in scar treatments. Hope this helps. Best of luck.

Plastic surgery scars require attention after surgery so that they remain cosmetically-appealing and barely noticeable. In our office, we use a protocol for scars that minimizes their activity in the 6-8 weeks after surgery. If you have late plastic surgery scars, you may also require laser and RF therapy to help reduce the longterm effects of the scarring. Keloids, hypertrophic scars, widened scars, red scars, and hyperpigmented scars all require scar modulation with topical creams followed by lasers and RF therapy. In terms of lasers, we would employ the vbeam laser for redness, Venus Viva RF, PRP microneedling, chemical peels, and Morpheus 8, fractional erbium, or fractional co2. All of these have their individual benefits. Most of all, we recommend you visit a solid plastic surgeon who understands surgical scar revision, laser therapy, and RF therapy for scars.
