What are my options for Nasolabial Folds? (Photo)

Question

I'm a 26 year old female with shadows around my mouth that I hate. I've had two kids, so weight fluctuations may have caused them. I take very good care of my skin. I use sunscreen multiple times a day, Tretinoin, Vitamin C, moisturize and cleanse every day. I had 1 ml filler injected into my nasolabial folds back in February of this year, but I really didn't like the outcome. What are my options and what are your recommendations? I'm open to surgical options or non surgical.

I recommend fillers to soften the nasolabial folds themselves and also lift around the mouth and cheeks to build underlying anatomical support. In our practice we combine Sculptra with other fillers "layered" on top and lasers, skin tightening treatments such as Thermage, Fractora, and Renuvion (J Plasma), thread lifting,  and peels to get the most conservative, natural look. Filler is a great choice for many to soften the appearance of nasolabial folds.  You may have a better overall result from further contouring of adjacent facial areas.  I encourage you to visit with an experienced injector to discuss your specific concerns.  If you should choose, you can have any remaining filler dissolved.

Even though your upper face is not visible in the photograph, the appearance of what is bothering you is typical in individuals who have very little cheek apple or sometimes are totally flat in the check area. Usually this condition is inherited from the fathers side of the family. This can be greatly improved with fat grafting into the cheek area.
