Pain in natural tooth next to my dental implant.

Question

I had tooth 45 implanted 10 days ago, the dentist made nearly 40 degree angle in and the implant very close to tooth 44 root from x ray. I feel the tooth 44 root area pain until today. I would like to know if the implant hurt tooth 44 root and need to take out or not?

dental implants should be placed 1.5-2 mm away from a natural tooth to prevent damage to the tooth/ it's ligament. You should see your dentist to evaluate the tooth and rule out infection around the implant.

Hi:My suggestion is go back to your dentist and have him test the tooth for any nerve damage and mobility.  There could be also a possiblity of trauma from the implant surgery has made the tooth sensitive.Best,Dr. Maddahi
