Hello,A post op bra should provide gentle support and compression, not be so tight that it prevents the gradual drop & fluff of breasts. This process takes between 2-6 months. Talk to your plastic surgeon if you have concerns about your progress. All the best
as you posted wearing it day and night. Implants settle with gravity and stretching of the inferior pole. If a bra is used to eliminate the gravity impact, it will slow and diminish the amount of settling you get... just logical. Bra use will allow your scar tissue to heal in a higher position so if you want your implants to go down, wearing a bra is not the best thing to do. But your surgeon may disagree but I'm just trying to be logical.
A garment is use after breast surgery to provide gentle compression, which decreases the amount of swelling, for breast augmentations a compression band is usually used to provide gentle pressure to keep the implants in a good position while healing, at the end all of this are supportive maneuvers to help with the final result, but a garment is not a replacement of a properly executed surgery
Surgeons often recommend bras around the time of an operation. But, wearing a bra on a daily basis on native breasts cannot prevent ptosis.
A very tight constricting bra theoretically could slow down the normal process of implant dropping. In my practice I encourage patients to wear only a soft supportive bra and when at home if comfortable to go without a bra. I also encouraged patient's to do breast implant displacement exercises to help the dropping process.
