Why is my stomach still big after tummy tuck?

I guess I am not asking the right questions because not one PS can give me the right answer I had my TT done back in July 6 months later my stomach still big my ps promised me that it would go down with time and it didn't now I need a revision I lost 40 lbs since my TT was I over weight from the beginning I need to know why my stomach popped back out feelings sad have to fix this

Without photos it is not possible to address this question with any degree of accuracy. If you were overweight at the time of your surgery, you may have had excess visceral fat (internal fat) which would have prevented you from having a flat abdomen after a tummy tuck. Consult with your plastic surgeon again or seek a second opinion in person.Best wishes,Dr.Bruno

The answer is short: Lack of muscle repair or Gain weight after surgery, which is eliminated because you have lost weight after the Tummy Tuck. So be encouraged. That is fixable and you will see you will be loving your results. Muscles in the abdomen may  get  very loose after pregnancies or  significant weight loss and muscles get tighten through a muscle repair achieving very flat abdomen and also smaller and tapered waist, (I have done 8 inches muscle repair) So be happy!!! To evaluate your concern a photo would be helpful, additionaly your weight and BMI before and after surgery is necessary.If you have a BMI over 30, your stomach may still stick out after surgery. Before tummy tuck surgery, it is helpful to have patient lie down, and if thier stomach sticks out it before surgery, it will most likely be the same after surgery. Your protrusion is most likely due to omental fat (visceral fat) if you have these conditions.Another possibility is the sutures used to tighten the muscles may have broken. I am not sure as I
can not see your photos, but usually it is weight gain or the muscle repair was
not tight enough. Also, the repair may have been tight enough but the sutures
can pull out over time. Being that said there is a limitation as to how tight
you can make an abdomen. Sometimes the issue is that a surgeon will overpraise
and under deliver because the results you thought you could have are not
possible. You certainly could have been overweight before the surgery and that
can make a difference. If you like and trust your surgeon, then the next
procedure may be what you need, but make sure you have realistic
expectations.
