In pain after rhinoplasty. Is it normal?

The level of pain patients experience after any surgery varies.  However, it is not unusual for patients to feel pain after any surgery.  You should discuss the level of pain you are experiencing with your surgeon or his clinical team ASAP.

Pain after surgery is expected, although variable from patient to patient.  Regardless, you should speak to you surgeon about your concerns.

Everyone has a different pain threshold. Some patient experience some discomfort following Rhinoplasty. If the discomfort persists you shodul contact your surgeon. Best of luck!

Dear hershe22, While severe pain is not  common after rhinoplasty every patients pain level varies and is not a sign of a surgeons lack of skill so do not be overly concerned with that. I would contact your surgeons office in the morning and schedule a post operative appointment to make sure your recovery is on track. If the pain medication is not adequate then your surgeon may decide to prescribe another medication that may be more effective for you. Pain levels are designed on a scale from 1 to 10 and it would be helpful to keep track of your levels and how much medication you are taking to relieve the levels so your surgeon may make a full evaluation.
