Gums are still red and swollen after whitening strips. What should I do?

i tried crest 3d whitening strips 1 hour express and it made my gums very red and swollen and sensitive where it touched the strips. its been 4 days now and no sign of getting better. They are so uncomfortable I can't eat. And I can barely brush and forget flossing. What should I do?

4 days you probably should see your dentist. You could try warm salt water rinses 2-3 times per day. Also, Aloe Vera gel rubbed on the gums may help.

Hi:Please contact your dentist for the evaluation of the gum.  Without photos it is difficult to give you accurate advice.  Generally vitamin E liquid can help with any gum burning due to whitening.Best,Dr. Maddahi
