Gums are still red and swollen after whitening strips. What should I do?

i tried crest 3d whitening strips 1 hour express and it made my gums very red and swollen and sensitive where it touched the strips. its been 4 days now and no sign of getting better. They are so uncomfortable I can't eat. And I can barely brush and forget flossing. What should I do?

Using these two together is not a problem, and can be used indefinitely. Calcium and vitamin tabs should not be an issue.

I would agree that the active time for whitening material is between 1-2 hours. After that you really aren't getting any benifit.

Hi:It appears you have decalcification on the tooth.  This can also happen as a result of trauma while the adult tooth was developing.  Normally nothing has to done unless it develops into a cavity.Best, Dr. Maddahi

Hi:It's best to go back to your dentist to evaluate the stain.  Most likely he will be able to remove the stain with simple polishing.
