Laser hair removal getting all the hairs? Just finished my second treatment. Are the light hairs not effected?

Hi Rosie. Each follicle of hair grows at a different rate, that's why multiple laser hair removal treatments are needed to adequately remove the hair in an area. Laser hair removal is not effective for blonde hair or white hair. It is also not very effective for "peach fuzz" type hair. Those types of hair will likely remain. Hairs can only be
removed in their growth phase.The way laser hair removal works is by focusing concentrated laser energy
at the hair follicle. The pigment within the hair absorbs this energy, which
damages the follicle enough that hair regrowth capacity is greatly reduced or
eliminated. There are two components that are essential for LHR to deliver
optimum results: first, the hair needs to have enough pigmentation to absorb
sufficient laser energy that regrowth is affected. Secondly, treatments are
only effective when an individual hair is in the growth phase of its life cycle,
which is why multiple sessions are needed to treat even a small area. It’s
possible the lighter hairs around the areola were not in their growth phase,
and therefore haven’t been impacted by the two sessions you’ve already had.
Their lighter color could also mean that they’re less affected by the laser
wavelength as well. Definitely bring up your concerns at your next appointment.
