Unable to chew with Invisalign attachments. Is this normal?

It may be that there is excess resin around the attachments or that the attachments are too bulky. I would suggest your seeing your dentist as soon as possible for possible adjustments.

r u talking about attachments on back side of lower teeth? , if yes, that is called bite ramps. in that yes it is common. do not worry about that. it is help to open bite. and if u r asking for any other attachment , visit yr dentist.

This is a common challenge with a simple solution. The new G5 attachments only engage the trays on one surface. Your dentist should check your bite and make adjustments to the non-engaging surfaces of the attachments so you can close fully without any interferences. I would definitely give your orthodontist a call and have it looked at. Typically, the attachments are designed and placed by your orthodontist so they won't come into contact with the opposing teeth when your bite is fully closed but something could have gone wrong. Or it could have something to do with excess material being there that shouldn't be there. Either way I would get it looked at now before progressing onto further trays just to be on the safe side.
