In my opinion, the key to your diagnosis is in the hair wash test and hair pull. If you see excessive hair in the wash test or pull test has more than 5 hairs with white bulbs at the ends, you have Telogen Effluvium. If you have pain, burning or discomfort this goes along with the diagnosis. The gold standard would be to have a biopsy. Your middle photo does show some miniaturization. Find a hair expert.

if you did not have a proper examination then you did not have a proper examination. A full examination is needed by an expert and that is what is needed.
