Veneers / Bonding after Invisalign, would changing the shape of my teeth interfere with my retainers?

I am currently in the middle of 64 week Invisalign treatment and my ClinCheck shows some spacing. Looks like I might need veneers or bonding to close up the space. My only concern is my retainer. Wouldn't changing the shape of my teeth interfere with my retainers?

Hello and thank-you for your question. Any type of cosmetic dentistry alteration during your Invisalign® treatment will alter the shape of your teeth. If you are considering cosmetic dental bonding or porcelain veneers, I would recommend waiting until your treatment is complete, otherwise your dentist will need to fit you for new Invisalign® aligners. If you are still in doubt, schedule an appointment with your dentist who can come up with a future plan for your new smile. Good luck!

Yes. If you change the shape of any teeth with bonding or veneers, a new impression or scan will have to be done to fabricate retainers.
