Does spironolactone cause irregular periods/menstruation?

I have been taking spironolactone for 3 months. during this time my periods have become very irregular, as in every 15 days. Is this a common side effect?

Spironolactone is useful in many women with acne. Weight gain from this drug is not common. Consult with your provider if you are experiencing this – and again, know that this is not something that we see with this drug.
