Hi. I am currently taking spironolactone. Is it safe to get a mini fraxel treatment while on the medicine? I want to start getting rid of the acne scars! thanks!

Yes, it is safe. There are no contraindications for getting a Fraxel laser while taking Spironolactone.

Many patients who have acne and are on oral antibiotics have Fraxel laser for their acne scars.  There is no contraindications for taking Spironolactone and Clear and Brilliant and any of the lasers or chemical peels for your acne scars. It's very common to combine an oral or topical antibiotic with laser treatments.  Ideally, you would want to consult with a Board Certified Dermatologist to make certain lasers are appropriate to perform. If you are experiencing too many acne breakouts, you may not be a candidate to start treatment.
