Can retinol or AHA/glycolic peels cause old moles to regrow?

In the past month, I have seen the reappearance of three small, benign, black, flat moles (freckles) that I had removed 10-14 years ago. They were surgically excised and the wound stitched up. In reappearing, they are not as dark as they were before, but are definitely noticeable. In the past 6 months, I have begun using retinol and AHA daily or twice daily. I do a glycolic peel (30-50%) maybe once every 3 months. Could any of these have caused the mole cells to regrow?
