Replacement of eMax veneers? I feel the colour is too dark. (Photos)

Question

I had porcelain EMAX veneers placed in June on my upper 4 front teeth. I feel the colour is too dark- BL3 (my natural teeth are whiter), the central incisors slightly overlap and my overall smile appears gummy. I should add that there was small triangular gaps between each veneer which have since been filled in with composite. My question: would getting them replaced with a lighter shade/different style at another clinic fix this or is invisalign something I should consider first? Thanks.

E max ( lithium disilicate) veneers are great and strong but the color of emax porcelain is not bright, they are more translucent in nature, Just like natural teeth, unless the ceramist does a cut back and add feldspathic porcelain and revitalize the color to what the patient desires!The preparation, and removal of tooth structure by the dentist is an important factor also!The more tooth structure is removed the more the ceramist can manipulate the color of the veneers, but for patients sake if the cosmetic dentist wants to stay in enamel, the less room the ceramist have to mask the colors ! It is a give and take!Be informed that once you do have a emax restorations and you may want to change or redo, It is much harder and time consuming for the dentist to remove emax porcelain, and it will require much more time to cut out the emax porcelain or even a zerconia porcelain!

The material of the emax veneer (lithium disilicate) can have a 'creamy' look to it that turns grayish when fired up in the oven.  Although the emax is very strong and durable, it is sometimes not the best choice in very esthetic cases like yours because it lacks brightness and will stand out next to your naturally white teeth.  The shapes of the veneers can also be a bit more delicate looking and less bulky.  If you are thinking about redoing, you should consider involving more teeth.  Start with a great diagnostic wax-up and review all of your concerns before proceeding.

While a remake of your case can make a tremendous difference, I think 10 veneers will be needed to make your case a success.  Invisalign won't help at all.Be sure to have a diagnostic wax up made in advance to make sure the result is what you expect before you start.  Emax is a great product, but there are other materials to be considered, including LiSi from GC.
