Can I remove my power chains?

My power chains on my braces are yellow. I have a big event tomorrow and I want to take it off. I was supposed to get my braces tightened 2 months ago but my family has moved all over. Since I am overdue on getting my braces tightened can I just remove the yellow stained power chains?

Hi!I definitely would not remove the power chains as the chain is most likely what is holding the wire in place.  I would recommend finding an orthodontist in your area that would change them for you.  Hopefully, you can find an orthodontist that my take over your case so you continue with proper care. Please do not remove your power chains. I understand that it is not a perfect situation and they are ugly. If you don't have an appointment scheduled in the near future removing the power chains will cause you to relapse. This will lead to longer treatment time and possibly additional expense for your parents.
