Red patch after peel post CO2 laser (Photo)

Question

I had a fractional CO2 laser 4 days ago and know the proceed as I have many sessions before for acne scars. This time I had full face for both scars ( very swallow now) and firmness/ lines. This times it is not like before I stated to peel at day 2 (one spot) and in this early areas of peeling the skin are very red, shiny and raw. I did not peel off myself it was naturally. Is it normal to peel so early? some areas are raw & red and other more pink... a bit anxious about the ones very raw!

I suggest following up with your doctor or a cosmetic dermatologist for a formal evaluation and after care recommendations. I advise my patients to use skin care with vitamin C, b5 hydrator, silicone-based scar gels with growth factors, and enzymatic washes with papaya enzyme to give improvement. Sun protection is essential.Lasers like CO2 work best in combination with other treatments in order to improve the skin's texture and collagen. After CO2, I recommend adding Fraxel, microneedling/PRP, and radiofrequency treatments. Best, Dr. Emer
