How does PRP thicken miniaturized hair?

Question

After a series of PRP treatments, does existing miniaturized hair shed first and then another thicker hair grows in it's place? Or does the miniaturized hair start growing thicker without shedding first?

Such an interesting question. From my reading and experience, there are studies showing a cuff of inflammatory cells that surrounds the follicle in some patients with androgenic alopecia.  PRP likely modulates this inflammatory response revealing the hair of inflammation. PRP works differently and cooperatively with treatments based in hormone modulation.  I have seen countless examples of patients benefiting from PRP treatment for hair loss with 1) less shedding 2) increased diameter 3) new hair growth after PRP treatment.
