Is photodynamic therapy suitable for darker skin types?

I have type V skin. I have been on tretinoin 0.1% for 3 weeks and my acne is clearing up but I still have red inflamed acne marks. Will PDT help with acne, acne marks (redness and hyperpigmentation) and acne scarring (shallow pitted scars)?

Studies have shown increased collagen production from PDT, and therefore we commonly use the pulsed dye laser, IPL and blue and red light together when performing PDT to maximize this effect, which correlates with wrinkle improvement.

Thanks for your question. While you are pregnant or breastfeeding, PDT is not a therapy that we would recommend or perform on you. There is no data to suggest that it is not safe, but there is no data to say that it is – so this, as with most cosmetic treatments, are not done on pregnant women. ...
