Lasik is a wonderful vision correction surgery providing you are an ideal candidate. Individuals who are not ideal candidates should stay away for Lasik. Other possible option could be PRK, LASEK and intra-ocular contact Len providing you meet the criteria for these surgeries. Your doctor can best guide you.

the quality of your scans is not good so i can't really interpret them well over the internetbut in general, whenever someone says "you can't get LASIK" you must realize that there is a 90% chance that you can get PRK (which will HURT) or LASEK (which will not, but take 2-3 days more to recover than LASIK) or epiLASEK (which has a recovery of only 1-2 days more than LASIK)

I cannot make a diagnosis over the internet. However, -8 nearsightedness and 540 micron corneas are both acceptable for Lasik.
