I am two months post Lasik correction for distance. How long does it take for vision to be clear?

Asked By:AnonymousANSWERS (1)

It usually takes 3 months to obtain your final vision after Lasik. In some cases, it can be 6-12 months.

Are lash extensions 1 week after LASIK ok to get?

Asked By:AnonymousANSWERS (1)

It is probably ok to get the lash extensions 1 week after Lasik, but I recommend that you wait about a month. No sense in irritating things at this early healing phase.

Is Lasik worth it for vision of -.75 left and .50 right?

Asked By:AnonymousANSWERS (1)

The question to ask is: do you prefer your vision when you correct the -0.50 and -.075 with glasses or contact lenses? Would you like to have that vision all the time without needing the glasses or contact lenses? If so, then you should get Lasik.

Once you get LASIK, are you stuck with having a flap for life? Do PRK touchups get rid of the flap?

Asked By:AnonymousANSWERS (1)

The flap does not go away, which is a good thing. Although the flap is healed (sealed) in place, it can be lifted by your doctor years later to make for a quicker and easier touchup in the future if this is necessary.

LASIK has switched my eye from nearsighted to farsighted 4 days post surgery - temporary?

Asked By:AnonymousANSWERS (1)

Your near vision should improve as you adjust to the loss of nearsghtedness. When you were -1.5, your eye could see very well up close without exerting any focusing energy. Now, to see well up close, you need to exert some focusing energy, and you are not used to doing this. At your age, most people can easily exert this small amount of focusing energy. It should take a few weeks for you to learn to do this well.

No prescription needed, but some astigmatism is still left in one eye? should I ask for them to do a correction?

Asked By:AnonymousANSWERS (1)

0.5 diopters of astigmatism is enough to bother some people. Others will not mind it at all. Ask the doctor to show you what your vision will be like if the 0.5 diopters is corrected. If it helps, then ask for a fine tuning.

I have a +2.25 correction in my right eye 1.5 months after PRK - Should I worry?

Asked By:AnonymousANSWERS (1)

It takes at least 3 months to reach your final vision after PRK, and sometimes up to 6-12 months. So I would not be particularly concerned at this time.

Will PRK help with my night glare/halo/backlight issues that have happened after ICL surgery?

Asked By:AnonymousANSWERS (1)

The most common cause of glare and halos after ICL (or any type of vision correction treatment, including Lasik) is uncorrected nearsightedness, farsightedness, and astigmatism. PRK to improve your vison to 20/20 should significantly lessen your glare and halos.

Relex Smile did not treat astigmatism. Will it heal somehow?

Asked By:AnonymousANSWERS (1)

Relex Smile typically heals considerably slower than Lasik. With my Lasik patients, I tell them not to reach any conclusions about the final vision for three months, so I think it is way too early to reach any conclusions about your final result. Some of my Relex Smile patients have taken longer than 3 months to reach the final level of vision.

I want to do LASIK, my right eye is -1 CYL -0.25 and my left eye is -0.5 CYL -0.75. Do you recommend? (photo)

Asked By:AnonymousANSWERS (1)

Your numbers are all appropriate for surgery. However, without knowing you entire medical history, and other important factors such as your age, occupation, family history, etc., it is impossible to make a recommendation.

Best Thing I’ve Done for Myself.

You guys, seriously, this is the guy you want. Dr. Caster is who you want performing invasive surgery on your EYES. Your vision is one of the most, if not the most, important basic senses of your body. I’ve been wearing glasses since I was 11, contacts since 13, and had so many eye infections over the last 18years. I know, gross. I was not great at taking care of my contacts or even removing them nightly...or weekly. This procedure is literally an eyeball saver. I had to do it sooner rather than later. My procedure was November 24th after several consults with other doctors (including lasik vision institute). Now believe me, I love a good deal but I just wasn’t willing to take that risk with above said senses. Especially after finding out there were so many things that could go wrong, permanently affecting the rest of my life. Dr. Caster was the only one that I trusted because of his knowledge, skills, and experience! No advertising, no gimmicks. Immediately after, my vision was 20/20 but with some blurriness and scratchiness in one eye. 5 DAYS after my quick (literally a couple of minutes), painless procedure, I was symptom free! My vision was 20/15 with no blurriness/dryness/halos/scratchiness since then. I am going to be grateful to this man for the rest of my life! Treat yourself because your eyes deserve it!! *also got the cutest mug and tshirt (says “guess what I’m not wearing”) as souvenirs. Isn’t that cute!?

Absolutely satisfied and utterly grateful!

My entire experience from the first phone call to walking out after my procedure was perfectly smooth. Dr. Caster and his staff are always friendly and made sure I understood the process. I couldn‘t believe that lasik eye surgery would be something an ordinary person like me could afford. I am SO happy and grateful for having my vision back! Updated on 7 Dec 2018: first all the staff is amazing, very professional and make you feel comfortable. at first I was nervous specially since I was getting a procedure on my eyes and as delicate and important my eye sight is I wanted to go with the best. The procedure was not painful and was able to see right after I highly recommend caster eye center, this was the best decision I've ever made for myself.

I had an amazing experience!

I have to say I had my lasik surgery with Dr Andrew Caster about a week ago and my life has drastically changed! I am so happy with my results. I was born with very bad astigmatism so buying and wear glasses and contacts got very expensive I would spend about $400 every 6 months for contacts!! The day I had the surgery I was very nervous. On my way to the surgery I wanted to turn back and go home I was so scared, but all of the staff members just made me feel at home. When they told me that it was time to do the surgery I felt so comfortable and that I was ready to just jump in and do it. The surgery literally took seconds I was so amazing and I also had a really cool light show happen for me. I feel so blessed that I was able to do the surgery. I can't thank Dr. Caster enough this was the best thing that I could do for myself. Thank you so much Dr Caster!

Bye Bye Glasses, Don't Need You Any More! - Beverly Hills, CA

After years of being nearsighted and not being able to tell a person from a tree I decided to give LASIK a shot. I made an appointment for a Pre LASIK exam, which took about 90 minutes of testing and meeting with Dr Caster to figure out what would be right for me. I must say I am so happy I did this.

What an Amazing Life Experience!! - Beverly Hills, CA

My pre, and post procedure went much better than I even imagined it to. My consultation was highly detailed, my questions were answered clearly, financing methods are AFFORDABLE and the Caster staff is phenomenal. I scheduled my procedure for lasik two months after my consultation. When arriving to my appointment, I was warmly greeted, didn't have to spend extensive amounts of time filling out paperwork and soon before I knew it the procedure was already complete! I felt no pain during the procedure and I was able to see immediately after with just slight cloudiness. The next day for my follow up appointment, I was able to see 20/20! Dr. Caster examined the flap and I was on my way home. It was so quick and easy, I don't see why others wouldn't chose to do Lasik! I'm a whole new person enjoying life in HD! THANK YOU DR CASTER AND STAFF!

My Vision is Perfect Now! Best Decision Ever! - Beverly Hills, CA

The amazing thing was when I woke up in the morning, I could see my gorgeous husband's face next to me . . . without having to first put my glasses on. I even drove myself to my appointment the next morning. This is the best thing I ever did for myself. Being able to see without glasses is worth everything and I didn't even need to be terrified because Dr. Caster and his staff made me so at ease and the surgery went without a hitch.

My Vision is Great! - Beverly Hills, CA

I had my Lasik done by Dr. Caster a few months ago and I'm seeing great! My vision is 20/20. I am so happy I did this. The only regret I have is that I didn't do this sooner. The day of my surgery I was very nervous. They gave me a pill and it helped to relax me. I had drops put in my eyes and was taken into the room. Dr. Caster made me feel very at ease and he talked to me throughout the surgery. He is the best! My vision was a little blurry that day but the next day I was seeing great. I was able to drive the next day. I highly recommend Dr. Caster to everyone! Best money I ever spent.
