I'm 4 weeks post-op, and I had venous congestion in my nipple/areola. My doctor prescribed nitropaste, which helped. However, my nipple scabbed, and when the scab fell off today, there's almost nothing left (maybe 1-2mm). I feel awful and have been crying for hours. Is there any chance that this flattened tissue will protrude more? Will I be able to breastfeed? Should I expect my surgeon to do a free nipple reconstruction? Would nipple reconstruction prevent me from being able to breastfeed?
