My maxillofacial surgeon wants to do a maxillary impaction & move both the upper and lower jaw forward, plus perform a sliding genioplasty. My question is, however, will my steep jaw angle be fixed after jaw surgery? My face is LONG due to the downward lower jaw. Apparently I am NOT a candidate for CCW rotation or a vertical ramus osteotomy. BUT Is it possible to perform a 5-piece mandibular osteotomy with a bilateral stepwise body osteotomy & BSSO?
