I recently got a new crown. The dentist left cement on that crown, and it's cemented to the tooth next to it such that I can't floss. When I bite down on something hard enough on this tooth (like a piece of steak), I feel some pain. Will removing the cement solve this problem? Or is it more likely that it is a high spot?

Please upload a photo, so I can guide you better. Remember all crowns are not at equal height, so need to check that first. Also, it's my advice to wait for 10 more days because meanwhile, occlusal adjustments will take place.
