Getting Emsculpt before a breast reduction surgery - Will Emsculpt results last through 6 weeks of recovery without exercise?

I bought a pack of Emsculpt sessions I want to use, but I am also scheduled for a breast reduction. I'm not sure if I should do the Emsculpt sessions before or after the surgery, which will require ~6 weeks of recovery time without much exercise. I've seen that Emsculpt results can take a few weeks to show up, so I wonder if I should do it before the surgery. But then if I am inactive for 6 weeks, will that reduce or interfere with results? Should I wait until after the surgery to do Emsculpt?

I have had several patients discuss getting EmSculpt treatment packages around various surgeries and I am a firm believer that getting them done prior to a surgery, especially one with extended down time, is much more beneficial. Following the completion of your package, the results do take 4-6 weeks to really settle in. I like to tell patients that just like working out at the gym, you get the initial "pump" from the individual treatments, but the lasting results of body contouring and muscle building show up later on. I have had some patients even comment that the pre-op EmSculpt treatments helped them recover better from the surgery. Hope this helps!!

EMSculpt results will last through your 6 week recovery and longer. Studies report persistence of fat loss and muscle hypertrophy past 6 months. You may not be ready to do more sessions at 6 weeks post breast surgery. Speaking from personal experience, the EMSculpt abdominal treatment activates the entire rectus abdominus muscle which attaches to the ribs. If you have any reconstruction that involves pocket revision, you may need more healing time so you don't pull on your ribs and also cause discomfort. You would safe to resume any maintenance EMSculpt therapy at 8-12 weeks.

I don’t think in a matter of six weeks you’re likely to lose much of what you’ve gained using in EMsculpt.
I would suggest one of two options
1: Do the series before the breast reduction. Then approximately four weeks after surgery do a maintenance session to help maintain results.
The alternative would be to have the breast reduction surgery first and after 4 to 6 weeks start the Emsculpt series which will help quickly build muscle and get you back into shape.
