In  my opinion, oral minoxidil is more effective than topical minoxidil. We adjust the dose of minoxidil in women based upon their clinical and medical history. It's not so much an issue of what dose works best but rather what dose is safe and still works. The two are very very different concepts. High doses of oral minoxidil work wonderfully for hair but are likely to cause a range of side effects. 

LONITEN Tablets contain the powerful antihypertensive agent, minoxidil, which may produce serious adverse effects. It can cause pericardial effusion, occasionally progressing to tamponade, and angina pectoris may be exacerbated. I would caution you on its use
