What's the difference between Silhouette Soft and Nova (PDO) Threads?
Answer: Silhouette Soft and PDO Threads, brief explanation Thank you for your question. Both treatments are designed to lift sagging skin but do so in different ways and stimulate different types of collagen. Your clinician should be able to advise you which you are most suited to; PDO threads are more suitable if you have thicker, heavier tissue - patients may be older or have a greater degree of drooping skin. The collagen stimulated by PDO threads is thicker and less flexible so provides a firm lift. By contrast Silhouette Soft is effective for those who require volume repositioning or are looking for more defined and contoured features. The collagen Silhouette Soft threads stimulates is more flexible and results with this treatment are more nuanced and natural looking.

Answer: Differences between PDO and Silhouette Soft Sutures Thank you so much for a great question. I personally use both Silhouette Soft and PDO threads, and find that both have their place. Some key differences are:- The material they are made out of: PDO stands for Polydioxane whereas Silhouette Soft are made from PolyLactic Acid. Both have excellent safety profiles- How they lift?: Silhouette Soft have cones along the length of the thread, allowing suspension of the tissues. PDO cog threads have tiny barbs which anchor in the facial ligaments- The technique: The insertion of the threads is different, and important. Both techniques have their place. I find PDO particularly helpful in patients who have heavy or thicker tissue, whereas Silhouette Soft is excellent for facial contouring and repositioning of volume. We would always recommend having a consultation with a doctor who uses both techniques who would be able to recommend which product would be best for you. Hope this helps to answer your question.

Answer: Differences between PDO and Silhouette Soft Sutures Both sutures are designed to lift and reposition tissue, however how they do this is very different. Silhouette Soft allows repositioning the volume in the face and represents a true suspension suture. Made of Polylactic Acid, large surface area Cones and stimulating the youthful Type 1 collagen . As opposed to to PDO barbed sutures that stimulate the fibrous Type 3 collagen. In practice both have different uses, PDO tend to be used for the heavier tissues and Silhouette for more contouring and lighter tissues
