I'm at end of Invisalign treatment. I had some questions regarding trying to perfect smile. I feel teeth #6 and #11 have an elongated appearance, either due to oversized tooth or elevated gum line. #7 has an uneven surface, so that the angulation of the surface of the enamel causes it to appear as if there is an irregular space between teeth. The lower border of #6 #7 not straight. #8 has chip on medial side of lower surface. I wanted to see if there was any way to address these concerns.

Answer: Cosmetic Bonding and Recontouring After Invisalign Treatment Cosmetic bonding and teeth recontouring after the completion of Invisalign is a very common way to improve the aesthetics of your final result. Often worn incisal edges caused by the misalignment of teeth prior to Invisalign can be corrected and recontoured after treatment is finished. Cosmetic bonding is often used for minor corrections in tooth shape or to close unusual spaces or embrasures between teeth. It's important to remember to do these procedures prior to any impressions or scans for your final retainers, as these modifications will affect the fit of these appliances as well.

Answer: Is there any further cosmetic procedure(bonding, recontouring)that can help perfect my smile after Invisalign? It's difficult to see in your photograph, but if there is a space, recontouring will not solve the problem. So the only other solutions are either porcelain veneers or cosmetic bonding. There is a new system called EasySmile Veneers which is a form of cosmetic bonding. The system allows for a Preview Veneer to be custom designed and placed on your tooth so that you can determine if it gives the result that you want. If it does, then you can proceed with having the veneer placed permanently. These veneers are made from an advanced based resin formulation that allows for the final veneer to be color stable and very strong. The treatment time is very quick(for 1 tooth, 1 visit less than 1/2 hour), no filing or drillling of your tooth, so you get to keep your healthy tooth structure, and the procedure is very affordable. Patients having these veneers placed are thrilled with the results, because they are very natural looking and blend in very well with your natural teeth. You can get information on this new system by doing a google search for EasySmile Veneers or Dr. Harvey Silverman, )a cosmetic dentist from the Cleveland area) the developer and founder of this system. The other alternative is porcelain veneers, but you will have to have your teeth prepared or filed down to allow adequate space for porcelain veneer thickness. This also requires wearing of a temporary veneer for about two weeks, and the cost can be double or more than the above EasySmile porcedure. The results can be dazzling, so you may want to consider this option as well.

Answer: Invisalign complete I thin your teeth look really good. I would live with them for a while before doing anything. Bonding can be a mixed bag. It can be invasive if done in the wrong hands, has a tendency to chip, and will stain and not necessarily look good. My suggestion it live with them 6 mos to a year and then reevaluate. If you still want to do someting, veneers would be much better than bonding. DCSmiles.
