Hello, I'm 49 years old and my face has lost a lot of volume and the skin is starting to sag. I got 2 vials of Sculptra 3 years ago and it worked great but I feel the Dr used too much product on the lower part of my jaw and it looked like I had jowls. I'm concerned that if I get Sculptra without getting some support for my skin, the story repeats. What would be better in my case, 8 PDO threads or 2 Sculptra vials, I cannot do both right now. Thank you in advance!
Answer: Robust Volumizing Fillers Can Lift & Contour The Face At least from the photos provided, it appears that there is some volume deficit in the midface that is contributing to a more drawn appearance, incipient tear troughs and to the smile line and droop at the angles of the mouth. The appropriate use of a robust volumizing filler, such as Voiuma XC, would likely provide sufficient lift and contouring of the cheeks to address these issues, and unlike threads, there would be little to no signficiant downtime, and unlike Sculptra, the results would be immediate and not require a series of treatments. Duration of Voluma XC to the cheeks typically lasts about 1.5 years, so good bang for the buck, as well. Hope this helps.

Answer: PDO vs Sculptra Hello and thank you for your question! At 49, it’s common to experience volume loss and sagging skin. In our practice it is often a combination approach that allows us to reach the customized aesthetic goals of our patients. Using PDO threads can provide immediate lift and support to your skin, helping to counteract sagging. This can create a more contoured look and improve skin texture. In addition, the threads help encourage collagen growth as they dissolve. On the other hand, Sculptra works over time to stimulate collagen production, which can help restore volume more gradually. If you're worried about potential over-filling with Sculptra, starting with PDO threads could give you the lift you need while allowing you to reassess your volume needs later. Ultimately, discussing your concerns and your wishes with a qualified practitioner who understands your aesthetic goals can help you decide the best course of action tailored to your needs. Best of luck! Genie Alexander, RN BSN for Dr. Anna Petropoulos, MD FRCS at Center for Classic Beauty Danvers & Boston, MA

Answer: PDO Threads or Sculptra? Combination of PDO Threads and Sculptra, or PLLA Threads. But not PDO Threads alone. You would not get long lasting results from PDO Threads in isolation. PLLA Threads are essentially Threads MADE of Sculptra, and are designed to stimulate the body to form colllagen.

Answer: Sculptra or PDO threads Hello thank you for your question. You have two issues one is volume loss and the other one is sagging skin. At some point when financially feasible, both are necessary. Sculptra will not add volume. It will improve collagen production, provide structure and support to your face and improve the quality of your skin. At this point depending upon what your main concern is, PDO threads may give you an immediate improvement and once your finances become available you can consider Sculptra
