I recently had a bonded retainer placed on my lower arch. However, instead of a some bonding material being applied to a single spot on the back surface of each tooth, the cement completely covers all of the teeth from the wire up to the top edges. The interproximal areas are completely covered, making it impossible to completely floss in between each tooth. Is this a common way to apply a bonded retainer? I'm concerned about long term plaque buildup and decay.
