Hi! I wanted to know if the EmSculpt NEO device can help reduce fibrous fat tissue from paradoxical adipose hyperplasia? I know it uses RF radiofrequency and HIFEM. Would this possibly work better than SculpSure which uses a laser? Thanks for any suggestions! Looking for a nonsurgical option, I don't think I would be a good fit for lipo.
Answer: Neo can potentially help The only most effective procedure for PAH is lipo. I understand your hesitancy to receiving one as the whole reason you had CoolSculpting was because you wanted non surgical options.People have different responses. You can definitely try Neo, we tried it in our practice and while it didn't make PAH go completely away, we only did 4 sessions, it did make it smaller and softer, which the patient was happy with. I think aiming for 8 sessions should be a good start and then take it from there. EmSulpt also offers core building and strengthening, so you are not wasting money by trying it. Answer: Problems with non-surgical fat, reducing Non-surgical approaches are inherently, unpredictable, and generally ineffective. When devices are successful, the outcomes are always less than ideal because of device is incapable of properly blending transitions zones.Liposuction is the gold standard. It is 100% effective and in the hands of the right provider, highly predictable.Small areas can easily be done under local anesthesia, which is also true for any liposuction procedure.I would add a minimum at least consult with plastic surgeons who have extensive liposuction experience before excluding the one procedure that actually works. All other options are highly likely to leave you disappointed spending thousands of dollars on things that don’t deliver. As I mentioned earlier when they do, the results still aren’t good.Best,Mats Hagstrom, MD
