I’m considering a nonsurgical butt lift w/ Sculptra. Still in research phase. I’ve read conflicting info on aftercare. Some say you have to massage your butt 5 times a day for 5 days. Some don’t. Some say it’s suggested but not required. It seems to me massaging the treated area would either do nothing, or create problems w/ migration. Either way, it’s a nuisance. Is it really necessary?
Answer: Massage is highly encouraged to avoid any lumps/bumps It is required and was required to massage Sculptra during the clinical trials following the 5/5/5 rule, which is 5 minutes 5 times a day for 5 days. Our practice emphasizes the importance of massage to avoid any nodule formation. It is a nuisance to some, but it is part of the treatment designed to avoid and minimize any potential for complications . Hope this helps.

Answer: No such thing Don't get me wrong, I'm not saying that people don't get Sculptra placement in their buttocks. they do. What I'm simply saying is that any meaningful or long lasting result would require much more Sculptra than anybody has actually gotten, and some people pay more than $25000 for it too. That's because Sculptra (and Renova and Bellafill) are extraordinarily expensive for a variety of reasons. In an average liposuction and fat grafting surgery ('Brazilian butt lift'), hundreds of cc's of fat are grafted for usually an augmentation of a couple hundred cc's or more per buttock. Injection of Sculptra into the buttocks by most practitioners is typically 20 to 40 vials, that may yield an augmentation of that many cc's or less, and all for many thousands of dollars. Unless you realize that Sculptra and similar products only have a small role in shaping the butt, and not actually increasing its size, then I recommend you don't spend the money. As for your question, you don't need to massage after Sculptra injections.

Answer: Self-massage after Sculptra Hi, that is a great question! I recommend a massage for 5 minutes, 5 times a day for 5 days after sculptra. The massage is intended to help prevent nodules from occurring after sculptra.

Answer: Sculptra concept behind massaging "Thank you for your question. Aftercare for Sculptra treatments can vary based on the provider's preference and experience. The concept behind massaging the treated area is to ensure even distribution of the Sculptra particles and prevent nodule formation. While there are concerns about migration, proper technique, and injection depth typically prevent significant movement of the product. The ""5 times a day for 5 days"" rule is a common guideline, but individual recommendations can vary. It's essential to follow the specific instructions provided by the practitioner who performs your treatment, as they are most familiar with their injection technique and how they want the product to settle. If you have concerns about the aftercare, it's crucial to discuss this with your chosen provider before the treatment."

Answer: Sculptra BBL Massaging is not necessary after injecting sculptors or any other soft tissue filler or biostimulator. It may be recommended if after the injection the placement of the product was not exactly where desired. In these cases a gentle massage to help flatten an area if too much was placed or if the placement was not in the exact spot then massaging to move the product over some is possible. If you will massage then this must be done carefully to avoid as you correctly stated “problems”. So not necessary but as a tool for a better outcome.
