Does the gap between the eyes become smaller as we age? What happens to the eyes that they become less wide-set as we grow up?

My eyes used to be very wide-set when I was a child, but now the distance between the eyes is almost equal to the length of the eye. Any explanation for this?

Distance between eyes may change due to growth of the bones. This growth completes around age of 17-18 in most man. Hope this helps.
