I had ellanse on my face about 1y ago, I chose the product that lasted 2yrs, but my face got asymmetrical, my doctor said we have nothing to do and we must wait for time label to pass, so, 1 more y. I asked him to try to dissolve the product and he told me that it's no longer possible after 1y of the procedure but to be calm about it, because it will dissapear as the time of the label chosed, Will the product really be absorbed? is there any risk of this product remain forever in my face?

Although the main component of Ellanse is FDA-approved for use as a suture material, the filler itself has not as yet received FDA-approval as an injectable filler. Ellanse is a semi-permanent filler and collagen stimulater, and, as such, the results of its use as filler may be quite long-lasting, if not permanent. As with adverse reactions to various other permanent and semipermanent fillers, (while no dissolving enzyme is available as with HA fillers) the use of varying combinations and concentrations of intralesional anti-inflammatory agents may prove useful for treating adverse reactions. You would be wise to consult with an experienced, board certified cosmetic physician. Best of luck.
