I switched to my second set of trays on the 25th February and it was noticeably tight and made my teeth sore for that same day and the next day. It’s the 27th now and it doesn’t have that tightness i felt on the first day and the pain is gone. Is this normal or have the aligners been stretched or bent? I use cold water to rinse and wash them.

Make sure you brush with an electric toothbrush for two minutes daily and floss at least once a day. You might also rinse with Tooth and Gum Tonic which you can get on Amazon. I, myself, am not a big believer in Arestin.
Its always advisable to quit smoking. but answer is yes, u can smoke. as u r worried about staining of attachment, no need to worry about only attachment, smoking makes whole tooth yellow, so if u r smoker thn its advisable to go for teeth whitening when you feel teeth are yellow.
Ideally the plastic edge should follow the margin of your gums. By the looks of your photos it appears to be off by maybe 1 millimeter. I wouldn’t worry about such a small descrepancy unless the edge is bothering your cheek and preventing you from wanting to wear your aligners.
