Eyelid swollen after first laser tattoo treatment, is this normal? (Photo)

Good morning, I had my first laser treatment to remove uneven tattooed eyebrows on Saturday, I'm happy with the result so far as the tattoo has already begun to fade but I woke this morning barely able to open my eye, it is very swollen and I'm extremly concerned, is this normal? Thank you, Goldust1

If it's all black ink, it should be removed relatively "easily". It's best to have 1/2 or less removed at a time (if you get the entire sleeve done at one sitting, the swelling can be painful and even dangerous.) If there is WHITE ink (often done as highlights), it could discolor...

If you are not using an anesthetic agent for your laser tattoo removal sessions the pain from the treatment may be stimulating natural endorphins in your body make you feel good.

Tattoos can be removed with laser tattoo removal. Tattoos should be removed with q switched or pico lasers. It will take a series of treatments. I recommend getting a formal evaluation with a laser tattoo removal expert. Best, Dr. Emer
