Would new laser technology be able to correct my glare, starbursts, and ghosting?

I had Lasik in 2001. And came out with better than 20/20. But shortly after I started getting starbursts, glare, and ghosting. I was told it would get better but never really did. I have since been back to have vision checked and right eye is a little worse than 20/30. Would new laser technology be able to correct my glare, starbursts, and ghosting? Or is it to risky to lift a flap this old? If it is would glasses help with at least the ghosting if by chance it’s my astigmatism coming back?

Ghosting is a problem for some people who have Lasik. It is much more of a problem for people who used the older technology than now with the newer technology. Also, even those people who do not have Lasik have some degree of ghosting with glasses or contact lenses.Astigmatism can cause ghosting, so getting your astigmatism fixed may decrease your ghosting. This can be tested by putting on glasses that correct your astigmatism.

Sometimes the treated area on the cornea ( the optical zone) is too small.This means that light can go through the treated area as well as un (or underrated) area.Expanding the optical zone is now possible so if the topography before and after your last laser point to that being the issue, help is available.
