I carried groceries 11 days after my rhinoplasty. Is that bad for healing and scarring?

I tell my patients it is important not to strain or pick up more than 10 pounds in the first week or so.  This is mainly to prevent bleeding and keep swelling down.  Carrying some groceries 11 days postop unlikely caused any issue especially if there was no bleeding or bruising.   Good luck!

It's not likely you hurt your results, but if you remain concerned, I recommend following up with your surgeon. Also, you need to have patience with your body as it begins to heal. The skin, bone and cartilage are all traumatized during surgery. Inflammation (swelling) is the normal response and will help your nose to heal and look beautiful in the end. If, one year from now, you are unhappy with your nose, then that is the time to think about a revision procedure. Right now, concentrate on other things you like to do and let your nose and under eyes take the time to heal. It is unlikely that you negatively impacted your results. Keep in mind, you have to give yourself some more healing time.  Your nose and surrounding areas are going to be swollen for a while and you should be consulting the surgeon that performed the procedure but give yourself some time before going back in so some of it can subside. It can take up to a year for final results.

Thanks for your question. This shouldn't affect anything at all in your healing process. In fact, it's great that you're getting back to your usual activities. I want my patients to be as active as possible following any surgeries that I do. Just be careful of your nose for the next month.
