I have type 2 Diabetes. My pre- surgical testing is on 2/9/15 & Gastric sleeve surgery scheduled for 2/25/15. I HAVE been overindulging and am concerned my sugar numbers will be too high and the surgery will be cancelled. Can that happen ?

With your weight and those health conditions, a gastric sleeve would be very helpful to you. Some surgeons will not do procedures for patients with BMI < 35 while others will. You may have to search around your community or region for such a surgeon.
The answer is not straightforward and you should seek the opinion of a bariatric surgeon. Our scientific literature has shown that band to gastric bypass patients do as well as patients who choose gastric bypass originally. The same cannot be said for band to sleeve patients.
You can absolutely have a gastric sleeve. Be sure you are making an informed decision after considering the risks, benefits, and alternatives. There is no reason to deny a patient bariatric surgery with a BMI > 35 who has been unsuccessful with non-surgical options. Even if they don't have...
