I have Indian dark skin and I have some broken capillaries on my face. What would be the ideal treatment for me with minimum risks?
Answer: Vbeam laser treatment can help reduce appearance of broken capillaries Fractional laser is an amazing and highly effective treatment in our office. We use the laser treatment to help with acne scars, large pores, fine wrinkles, tissue collagen loss, scars, sebaceous hyperplasia, active acne, and for brightening dark pigmentation. Although there are very strong fractional lasers such as CO2 laser, we use lighter treatments for corrective skincare and maintenance of results. Our Thulium fractional laser, clear and brilliant laser, and Ultra Thulium laser are excellent options in our clinic. We also perform CO2 fractional and erbium depending on skin tone and tolerance for downtime. Patients do have to use a Melarase cream before and after treatment to help further reduce pigmentation after laser. Dark spots can improve with these treatments. I recommend fractional laser for incisional scars as well, especially after plastic surgery. Best, Dr. Karamanoukian Realself100 Surgeon

Answer: Broken Capillaries for darker skin Hello, With the correct technology/settings, spider veins on the face are absolutely treatable with a long-pulsed YAG laser. This wavelength is ideal for darker skin tones as the intended target (blood inside vessels) is not competing with the skin color as is the case with shorter wavelengths. We have used our Lyra Laserscope 1064nm with good success for all skin colors, ages, and different sizes of facial vessels. The link below will show B&A photos: Regards.

Answer: How to safely treat facial veins on darker skin tones Thank you for your question. I typically treat patients with darker skin tones and this concern with a vascular laser like the CoolTouch Varia. The laser energy targets the blood in the vessel without affecting surrounding skin, making it a safe option for all skin tones. The procedure causes the vessels to coagulate and collapse so the body can reabsorb them. The treatment involves minimal downtime, and results can be achieved in a single session for some patients. Make sure you are working with an experienced, board-certified dermatologist who has expertise in treating a wide range of skin tones to ensure the best possible result.
