Can breast reduction help with chronic pain (t7-8 disc herniation, more)?

Thank you very much for your question.Yes, breast reduction "can" decrease back and neck pain.  That's why it's one of my favorite procedures to do, and has some of the highest patient satisfaction rates in plastic surgery.  However, pain reduction/elimination is never guaranteed, especially in your case where you also have a thoracic herniation.The fact that going bra-less causes significant discomfort makes me think that you will have a benefit with reduction, but again, I cannot say for sure.  Best of luck!

Thank you for the question and the major reason reduction mammoplasties are performed is because of chronic neck, back and shoulder aches secondary to the large size of ones breasts and that is why it is usually covered by insuranceDr. Corbin
